The Baylor Center for School Leadership (BCSL) is offering a day of learning and networking that focuses on catalyzing change within school leadership teams at the new Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center on Baylor’s campus on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Just Leadership is designed to bring expertise from superintendents, principals, and other instructional leaders and discuss topics such as, how to make teaching and administration inviting for the next generation, AI, cheating, smart phone use, and time management. Most importantly, this event will bring experts together to talk about leading in just ways, joyfully, for flourishing communities in the profession that makes all other possible.

“Schools that cultivate joy, justice, and flourishing require just leadership. The BCSL has worked with leaders in more than 45 countries and all 50 states. However, Central Texas is our community, so we want to serve these schools well by providing an opportunity for outstanding local leaders to learn from and with each other on Baylor’s campus,” said Jon Eckert, Ed.D., Lynda and Robert Copple Endowed Chair for Christians in School Leadership.

Led by Eckert and the BCSL team, attendees will use tools based on research presented in Eckert’s book, Just Teaching, as well as new tools from recent research. Attendees will also hear from Jay Brown, Baylor Regent and President and CEO of Crown Castle, on excellence in leadership.

Just Leadership was born from Just Schools Academy, an annual event designed for educators and administrators to work collectively to make school-wide improvement. To hear from some of our previous Academy attendees, watch this video from our most recent Academy in June 2023.

We’ll continue to add details about the upcoming event on the BCSL website. Here’s the link to register.
