The Just Schools Academy is the foundation of the BCSL.
Each June, the BCSL staff, select scholars and fellows host teams of educational leaders working to improve areas in their schools together.
How is this event different from other events?
This event is about the work the team does together with other schools. We call this Collective Leadership.
The work: Many educational events provide professional development while not actually addressing school-wide improvement. Our approach equips your school to improve and progress towards your goals with greater engagement and effectiveness.
The team: The Academy supports teachers and administrators working together toward shared goals and providing a process to measure improvement in the service of the primary purpose of schools—student flourishing. The strength of the Academy consists in the opportunity for schools to bring teams who will join with other teams to tackle similar challenges through adaptive improvement.
June 11-14, 2023.
