Marilyn Rhames

Marilyn Anderson Rhames is a PhD candidate at the University of Arkansas Department of Education Reform. Her research resides at the intersection of religious faith, race, and K-12 public education. The author of The Master Teacher: 12 Spiritual Lessons That Can Transform Schools and Revolutionize Public Education (2019), Rhames is also the founder of the nonprofit Teachers Who Pray, a two-time TEDx speaker, and an award-winning education blogger. She ended a seven-year career as a New York City reporter after covering the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She later served as a Chicago Public Schools teacher for 14 years.
