Dr. Herb Cox recently retired from 29 years of service in public education as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and most recently as a principal. His first 12 years of service were as a teacher and a coach. His last 17 years were spent as an administrator, with the past 9 years as Principal of Midway Middle School in Midway ISD in Hewitt, Texas. Cox graduated from Baylor with a BS in Secondary Education in 1979 and then graduated again in 2008 with his EdD in Curriculum and Instruction. Cox earned his Master’s degree from the University of North Texas in 2005. Cox served as a Board member for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, as well as an Executive Officer for TASSP. He was President of TASSP during the 2018-2019 school year.
