Deani VanPelt

Deani Van Pelt, OCT, PhD, is President of Edvance, a new industry association serving and representing over 90 Christian elementary and secondary schools in Ontario, Canada. Formerly a secondary school teacher in both public and Christian schools, a homeschool parent, and an Associate Professor of Education and Director of Teacher Education at Redeemer University, Van Pelt is now a Senior Fellow at the think tanks Cardus and the Fraser Institute and is also a Visiting Research Fellow in Charlotte Mason Studies at the University of Cumbria, UK. Van Pelt has researched and published frequently on aspects of school choice, school sector enrolments, and educational outcomes, has led international research collaborations funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and is currently lead editor of an international series on Charlotte Mason’s design for education today. She has presented at numerous academic and education conferences across North America, served as expert witness, and has been regularly featured in Canadian print and broadcast media.
